ITINERARY

Depart at around 7 AM from the city and travel south west towards the Ocean.

First stop at Angelsea to keep your eyes out for wild kangaroos, stop for photographs and for morning tea.

Continue and drive past the 1891 constructed Split Point Lighthouse and then arrive at the Memorial Archway, built in 1939. Gear up for a Mediterranean atmosphere as you drive past the gorgeous Town of Lorne.

Continue your journey at Cumberland River Gorge. Then we will wind along this inspiring coastline towards Kennett River where koalas hang above the road.

Continue your journey towards Cape Patton, the highest elevation of this morning’s drive, the last section of the Great Ocean Road completed in 1940 which at the time was an engineering feat supported by thousands of tonnes of boulders.

After lunch in Apollo Bay, we make our way across the Otway’s heading towards your next stop a beautiful bushwalk through temperate rainforest showcasing an ancient world once known as Gondwana.

Then journey continues through the Ayre river wetlands making our way towards the amazing limestone coast & the 12 Apostles. You will walk down the way which takes you to the beach and the Gog stacks where you'll feel dwarfed by towering sheer cliffs and the scale of the coastline.

    Angelsea has an exciting view of the playful eastern grey kangaroos hopping over the lush green golf course. Arrive at Anglesea, the town blessed with outstanding coastal sceneries fringed with forest canopies. Enjoy your morning tea enjoying the sea, sand and surf. Feast your eyes on the marvellous landscapes from Point Roadknight and Point Addis.

    The 1891 constructed Split Point Lighthouse standing in utmost glory. Few minutes further, you arrive at the Memorial Archway, built in 1939 to commemorate the valour and sacrifice of the First World War soldiers.     The next destination is the patrolled beach of Kennett River, a popular resort for the surfers. It is also a favourite hangout area of the adorable koalas. Just about 5 km. from the place is Cape Pattron Lookout, one of the highest points of the journey, offering astounding panorama of ocean beaches and green hinterland hills.

    Relish the culinary delights during lunch at Apollo Bay and enjoy your presence at the foot of the grand Otways Range. Move towards the exquisite seaside which is a popular host of music and sports festival. Take a break from the ocean views and surrender your senses to the wealth of the ancient temperate rainforest, wild species that are millions of years old.

    Temperate Rainforest

    A bushwalk through some of the tallest trees you would have ever seen would mesmerise you while you are at Oatway’s Rainforest. Lush ferns, ancient plants, and the fern fringed pools at Maits Rest and beautiful waterfalls in the narrow valleys of the rainforest would leave you awe struck. Rugged coastline and windswept heathland awaits you at the temperate rainforest.

    The 12 Apostles Lookout

    The final leg of the journey takes you to the nature’s special craft, the collection of unbelievable limestone stacks. Popular as the 12 Apostles Lookout, though only seven survive today, the place is class apart from the regular tourist attractions.
